For many years, longer than we care to recount, prosthetic sockets have been made with ridged carbon fiber, a great material if you are an airplane. But, as a material to wear around your leg every day? Carbon fiber does not yield or move with your body, it can break easy with impacts and is electrically conductive…. That does not sound like anything we would want to wear!
